Now, we have another version of the portable fly-tying table available – The Dix. The photos of the table in use are of a variation of the Dix (my own, which I keep adding things to).
This table is the “supped-up” version of the Paint Creek Fly-Tying Table and includes the following specs:
- The table is made of pine and sealed with three coats of spray polyurethane.
- The table measures 26 inches high, by 19 ½ inches wide, and 13 inches deep.
- The double-layer spool rack runs the entire length of the desk and holds 21 spools. In addition, there is magnetic tape secured to the base of the spool rack, which allows you to place your flies there, while they dry.
- Seven tool slots are placed on EACH SIDE of the table for a total placement of 14 tools.
- The trash hole, placed in the back center of the table measures 3 inches in diameter. A trash bin is held in place with magnets on the underside of the table top for easy dispensing.
- Two shelf dividers are in place on both shelves inside the table, which allows for six separate storage spaces.
- A chenille rack is in place above the bottom shelf. It measures 16 inches across with 15 dowels in place to hang your chenille or other material.
- Your table will be PERSONALIZED! Your name and city/state will be engraved in a black nameplate across the front of the vise bar. The vise bar, which runs 15 inches across the front of the tabletop, is made for either right, or left-handed folks.
There is minor assembly required. The table comes in two boxes, one for the top, and one for the base. Place the spool spindles in the pre-drilled holes on the spool rack, place the top on the base, level, and screw in place. Tamp in the wood plugs in the screw holes, and you're done! All supplies are included. |
